WE ARE UTVA

Hello UTVA Students, Parents and Teachers! I’m Emily and I’m the UTVA elementary school counselor. I’m really looking forward to working with you again this year.

At UTVA, I teach all elementary students social and emotional guidance lessons (SEL) each month and I meet with students and their families on an individual basis to help them overcome obstacles, succeed in school, learn to problem solve and reach their potential. 

I run student counseling groups, promote social wellness in our virtual social club, teach leadership skills to our Jr. Ambassadors, and help teachers and learning coaches create positive learning environments at home and at school.

I also share information annually for prevention awareness about the dangers and warning signs of suicide, tobacco, smoking, drugs and violence.
